Are Republicans in trouble in Texas? Governor Greg Abbott, a GOP Governor has issued a proclamation that will close locations across the state where mail-in ballots could be dropped off. The proclamation says:
“The State of Texas has a duty to voters to maintain the integrity of our elections. As we work to preserve Texans’ ability to vote during the COVID-19 pandemic, we must take extra care to strengthen ballot security protocols throughout the state. These enhanced security protocols will ensure greater transparency and will help stop attempts at illegal voting.”
What the governor doesn’t say is t will also make it more difficult to vote. Harris county, which is Houston had a dozen drop off locations. Now it will have one.
