Most of the conspiracy theories have been put to rest by the likes of Snoopes.com and the Orlando Police. The OPD claim mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, which left at least fifty people dead and scores more injured, was carried out by a single shooter identified as 29-year-old Omar Mateen. The Orlando Police Department confirmed that Mateen was killed during the incident, and that he was the lone gunman. With any tragedy you will have conspiracy theories running rampant such as the 9-11 false flag documentary and the Sandy Hook elementary school hoax groups. These people claim that the victims are all actors and it was a FBI or CIA operation for Obama to come and get your guns. While others claim that there were more shooters in the building at Pulse nightclub in Orlando and that there are two more terrorists on the loose as a start to hundreds of hoax stories.

The Survivor Who Trapped Others Inside
Luis Burbano admitted to trapping other revelers inside Pulse nightclub during the deadly shooting Saturday night thinking he was doing the right thing. Burbano exited the club via an ’employee’s only’ door that led to a hallway to an exit. On the other side of the door, he found himself crammed in with about 20 other people all struggling to move and make it to the exit so he said he shut the door behind him for a few seconds to give everyone more room
Another witness says Burbano actually shut the second door, trapping dozens of people inside the hallway when Omar Mateen was still shooting. ‘This guy is trying to prevent us from leaving. Maybe they’re working together,’ Gonzalez said. In another interview, Burbano spoke about his escape and talked about his survivor’s guilt.
Thoughts: We are not sure what he was thinking at the time it is hard to be inside someone’s head but he seemed genuine in the interview and it does seem that he is telling the truth. Some people just do dumb things because there is not much time to think.

One British youtuber pointed out that some of the clubgoers who were shot inside the nightclub were being carried towards Pulse instead of outside of it. It does look this way through the video but at the same time the street was blocked off at this point and they were trying to get those hurt to trucks or any means of transportation to the hospital a few blocks away. It’s possible they were even carrying him to the hospital. The bullets were reaching far and who wouldn’t be across the street?

SuperStation95 Hoax
One Conspiracy theory site SuperStation95 is getting anti-Obama people riled up with a post that there was a second shooter:

SuperStation95 has learned that a SECOND SHOOTER has been arrested in the Orlando nightclub terror attack!

We are working to confirm the details but here’s what we know:
On the night of the attack, a second shooter was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) as a victim because no one knew there was more than one shooter. The second shooter had somehow sustained a bullet wound to the leg. Upon arrival at ORMC, the shooter discretely attempted to hide or escape.

The shooter left a blood trail in the hospital and when authorities followed that trail, the shooter was detected in a bathroom on floor 6-A of the hospital. That person was arrested and it was then that the ORMC went on “Silver Alert” which is their code for “Active Shooter in the Hospital” thus prompting a complete lock-down of ORMC.

Authorities have not been cooperative with the media concerning this aspect of the attack. They have NOT been forthcoming with confirmation or even denial about this aspect of the attack. SuperStation95 is continuing to investigate and this story will be updated as new details emerge.

Snopes.com went further on the Lone Gunman claim:
On 11 June 2016, Facebook user “Cody Agnew” posted a fear-mongering message on Facebook, which claimed that two people involved in the mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub mass shooting in Orlando had escaped and were armed and dangerous, and that the news media were not reporting on that development because they did not want to frighten anyone:

“Earlier I had posted about my employee’s sister who was at the club when the whole situation went down. I just got some updates. She took 12 bullets, 11 were removed and one is in her liver and can’t be taken out. She is coherent, fairly stable, and VERY lucky to sill be alive. But that’s not the point of this post. There are bits of information that the media aren’t telling us. Mind you, this is coming directly from a survivor of the attack: there are two others that were in the club slaughtering people last night that were not caught. They are still out there and they are armed and dangerous. The media is not reporting this because they don’t want to scare everyone, but I think it’s important that people know. Friends, please stay safe. I would probably avoid theme parks, clubs, shopping malls, or anywhere with a high concentration of people for a little while. I’m not trying to spread fear, rather awareness, and make sure that all of my friends stay alive. Hopefully Facebook doesn’t remove this post.” Posted on Cody Agnew’s Facebook page. Snoopes says it’s unclear what motivated Agnew to post this fictional version of events but his Facebook account was deleted soon afterwards after screenshots of it were captured by the Daily Haze and cast doubt on Agnew’s story:

Mateen was reportedly armed with a Sig Sauer MCX, a popular rifle prized for its lightness, easy customization, and smooth shots. It is incredibly unlikely that someone could have been shot twelve times at close range by such a powerful rifle and not only survive, but be coherent enough later the same day to be able to recount exactly how many people were shooting at victims during a chaotic situation in a dark and crowded nightclub.

Some witnesses of the shooting (as with nearly every mass shooting) told reporters that they saw, heard, or thought a second shooter was present, but a 2010 Scientific American article details how and why eyewitness accounts, particularly in highly stressful situations, are not always reliable:

A number of factors can reduce the accuracy of eyewitness identifications. Here are some of them:
Extreme witness stress at the crime scene or during the identification process.
Presence of weapons at the crime (because they can intensify stress and distract witnesses).
Brief viewing times at the lineup or during other identification procedures.

While conspiracy theorists love to invoke the bogeyman of media cover-ups to bolster their claims, there is absolutely no reason for news outlets to hide the supposed fact that dangerous gunmen, fresh from dozens of kills, might be roaming free in a major city. (But they would have thousands of excellent reasons for covering that situation exhaustively if it were real.)

Crisis Actor Accusations Gave Motivation to Heal Faster
Most of us believe it’s always a good thing to question the media or government but the conspiracy theories coming out of the Orlando attack are off the wall. They are also disrespectful to people healing from this tragedy. This provided a positive response from A Philadelphia native and Fox 29 intern who survived the Orlando mass shooting who had to read through and dispute claims on social media that she was a “crisis actor” for the station saying she was not actually at Pulse nightclub when the incident occurred. Patience Carter, who was shot in the right leg but survived the shooting that claimed 49 lives, posted on Instagram Friday a picture of her cast and thanked Orlando Hospital workers and her supporters. She added she was discharged from the hospital. Carter also thanked “skeptics” who believe she wasn’t at the shooting and claim she is posing as a “crisis actor” for Fox 29. “It’s your outrageous insensitivity that makes me want to heal even faster, and grow even stronger,” she wrote.
